History

Date of Birth: June 7th, 1876
Home: Seward, Alaska, United States
Family: Neville and Marishka Rammer (parents), Blessing (younger sister)
Death: Personal Tragedy (a fisherman's family in Alaska produced a fisherman of a son, who eventually signed onto the Harwich whaling crew, one of the last vessels of its kind, long after whale oil had been replaced by petroleum; several successful seasons ran into problems in the mid-Pacific, while hunting pilot whales, a great typhoon storm blew up and sank the vessel off the coast of Hawai'i, and like his crewmates, Jonah drowned there, tangled in sail and rope), 1908
Mentor: Isaac MacAsgall
The Test: Trial by Influence (Stygia had colonized Hawai'i by then, and its people Reaped him and recruited him into their ranks as a soldier of the Skeletal Legion, and his role was to use the Haunt of his wrecked ship as a waystation for Stygian voyages, particularly since he was so closely connected and nearly bound to it)
Comrades: Thessa Theoni
Key Event #1: Personal Tragedy (over many years since, Jonah served faithfully as a guide for the dead, mentoring Enfants who also wrecked or drowned at sea in the region)
Key Event #2: Personal Tragedy (Jonah had always preferred his solitude, which made him vulnerable; Shades began to attack his Haunt and him, and while he bravely fought them off, he was wounded so badly as to fall into a coma-like Slumber of constant Harrowings)
Key Event #3: Personal Tragedy (over the years in this state, his Haunt, the wreckage of his schooner whaling vessel, seemed rot and wear away all the faster, so much so that the Quick seemed unlikely to ever discover it)
Transition: Shift of Nature (but then a mermaid, a bonified mermaid, explored the area and found the wreck, and her vibrant life rejuvenated and awakened Jonah, and he fell helplessly in love; Stygia had long since abandoned the post, so he happily devoted himself to her instead)

The Shadow

Appearance: Jonah knows his Shadow is cruel, malevolent, and aggressively destructive, and he pushes back against his dark side as much as he can, primarily by soaking in regret and self-imposed exile.
Trigger: Whenever it sees the chance to better him and itself through the destruction of another.

The Wreckage of the Harwich (Haunt)

Location: Lehua Channel, Kamakalepo Point, Ni'ihau, Hawai'i
Structure: Wilderness Den
Stock: The preserved if skeletal hull, covered in sea life now, of an old sunken whaling ship (schooner) off the coast of northern Hawai'i
Traits: Haunt 2

Weakness
Old Man of the Sea

Jonah's an old, dead sailor given over to Davy Jones' locker. No, it's not a distinct place, it's a euphemism for this...for the Underworld, for the Shadowlands and Tempest and Malfeas itself. And he's stuck here, la-di-da. This is his fate and he's a grumpy old fart about it. Can anyone really blame him?

Likelihood of Corruption

Average.

Jonah's held on so far, so there's no reason to believe he can't keep it up. Most spectres avoid him; he's hardly worth "recruiting" right now, and attacking him is often self-destructive.
